根據美媒報導，太空人、國民、紅襪等隊，都有可能網羅英卡納西恩。
首先太空人是年輕球隊，一壘是守備漏洞，若能網羅英卡納西恩，將可彌補一壘的空缺，也能補強打擊火力，藉由他過去的經驗，帶領陣中年輕球員。
國民則是具有競爭力的隊伍，但一壘手辛默曼（Ryan Zimmerman）因傷病問題出賽不穩定，若能網羅英卡納西恩，將可解決此問題。而英卡納西恩又是右打者，將可與陣中的左打哈波（Bryce Harper）和墨菲（Daniel Murphy）搭配，平?打線。
紅襪「老爹」歐提茲（David Ortiz）今年球季結束後退休，讓紅襪打線損失不小，雖然球隊計畫補強左打，但不會因此放棄具有打擊破壞力的右打者，因此英卡納西恩仍有可能是紅襪考慮補強的人選之一，而英卡納西恩的守備位置和歐提茲一樣，都是一壘手。
紅襪總裁唐布洛斯基（Dave Dombrowski）說，「我們希望這個人不只打指定打擊。」意味著將找一位攻守俱佳的球員，讓陣容的調度更為靈活。至於紅襪是否會在自由球員市場網羅好手？唐布洛斯基沒有直接回應，僅說：「不確定。」
如果紅襪網羅英卡納西恩，他將可與紅襪一壘手拉米瑞茲（Hanley Ramirez）共同分擔一壘和指定打擊；不過羅英卡納西恩想要尋求一紙長約，恐怕會是紅襪縮手的原因。
老將貝爾川除了是位不錯的指定打擊人選，也可以在需要的時候分攤班能廷迪（Andrew Benintendi）與貝茲（Mookie Betts）的外野工作；而紅襪可視需求與他簽下短約，不過他明年40歲了，能否繼續維持手感，也是問題之一。
